The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office will host a Safety Fair at The Avenues (10300 Southside Boulevard) on Saturday, August 12, 2023. This free, family event will take place from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. that day.
Members of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Sheriff's Watch, and health & public safety agencies will present safety exhibits, demonstrations and have informational displays on hand for attendees to view while walking through the first floor of the mall and in the parking garage.
In addition to learning about the various areas of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and seeing JSO vehicles used in the field, citizens will have the opportunity to turn in their unused or outdated medications to JSO detectives for proper disposal. Citizens that are unable to drop off medications at the Safety Fair can bring them to the
collection box at the Forsyth Street entrance of the Police Memorial Building (501 E. Bay Street), seven days a week.
