Important Facility Information for October 9 - 11

Aligning with the City of Jacksonville’s emergency management plans, all Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office buildings will be closed to the public starting Wednesday, October 9, 2024, through Friday, October 11, 2024, due to the impending tropical weather and adverse
weather conditions.

Closures include: 
  • Police Memorial Building, 501 E. Bay Street 
  • District 1 Substation, 5258-13 Norwood Avenue 
  • District 2 Substation, 9119 Merrill Road 
  • District 3 Substation, 8875 Liberty Ridge Drive, Suite 110
  • District 4 Substation, 3726 Blanding Boulevard
  • District 5 Substation, 1767 Kings Road
  • District 6 Substation, 1680 Dunn Avenue
  • All other publicly accessible buildings

Commissary deliveries at all JSO correctional facilities along with public access to first appearance court have been cancelled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024, through Friday, October 11, 2024. Normal operations will resume Monday, October 14, 2024. On-site visitation scheduled for Friday, October 11, 2024, has been cancelled but will resume for Saturday and Sunday. 
 
Additionally, the Citizens Police Academy class scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, has been cancelled.

The Patrol Division will continue to conduct business as usual throughout the storm, weather permitting, as will the Communications Center. Citizens may also call the non-emergency number (904.630.0500) for police service and are reminded to call 9-1-1 if the situation constitutes an emergency.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office will continue to utilize its social media platforms to disseminate important information and citizens can register for ALERTJAX notifications at http://JaxReady.com/ALERTJAX
