JSO Releases Critical Incident Briefing for the Officer Involved Shooting on November 11th
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, along with the State Attorney’s Office, continue the investigation into the officer involved shooting that occurred on Monday, November 11, 2024, on Rayford Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood.
Aligning with Sheriff Waters’ continuing commitment to openness and transparency, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is releasing this Critical Incident Briefing related to the incident. The video will disclose currently available information related to the shooting and the events that led up to it.
The State Attorney’s Office will independently review the incident to assess the legality of the officers’ actions. Once that is complete, JSO will conduct an internal review to ensure the officers acted within policy, a Response to Resistance Board will convene, and the findings will be submitted to the Sheriff for final review.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office does not draw any conclusions regarding whether the officers' actions were appropriate with respect to the law or JSO policy until all of the facts are known, and the investigation has been completed.
