In this month’s "Cold Case Spotlight", Detective Travis Oliver delves into the details of a case involving unidentified human remains.
Information available at this time is as follows, in the afternoon hours of Saturday, January 20, 1990, a couple hiking near the 15000 block of Heckscher Drive near Little Talbot Island discovered the human skeletal remains in a wooded area. JSO Homicide Detectives were notified and later determined the remains appeared as though they had been in the area for an extended period of time. The victim was found to have been shot. He has been identified as a white male, believed to be in his 50s and appeared to be about six-feet tall. Detectives believe the victim was wearing a gray shirt, black pants, and black shoes. A sketch was provided of what the victim potentially looked like at the time of his death.
