Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday, November 7th

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office would like to remind everyone that Daylight Saving Time (DST) ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021. This is when we will "fall back" one hour.


Citizens are also reminded that the beginning of DST (in the Spring) and the end of DST (in the Fall) are the times of year to replace the batteries in smoke detectors and test them.

Now that is darker earlier in the evening, and the holiday season is approaching here are a few safety tips to keep in mind: 
  • Be mindful of your surroundings.
  • Lock car doors / don't leave valuables in the car -- Remember day or night do the 9 P.M. Routine!
  • Use timers on lights - Don't forget to update the time on existing timers!
