Sheriff Presents Purple Heart Medal to Police Officer Malik Daricaud

On Thursday, July 25, 2024, Sheriff T.K. Waters presented Police Officer Malik Daricaud with a "Purple Heart" medal at the agency's monthly awards ceremony.


In March 2023, Daricaud was shot in the line of duty while assisting his fellow officers in apprehending a wanted suspect. After nearly 400 days in the hospital and rehabilitation, he was discharged from Brooks Rehabilitation.
