Since Sheriff T.K. Waters took office in November 2022, key components of his administration have focused on innovation and growth. A key part of this effort has been listening to the citizens of Jacksonville and adjusting priorities to ensure our public safety practices meet the
needs of a modern, evolving city.
Recognizing the importance of public and police partnerships, we have prioritized transparency, trust, and community engagement. To enhance transparency and provide broader access to information, JSO launched the
Transparency Portal in August 2024. This portal consolidates JSO’s transparency data and
crime mapping, offering the public access to permissible public safety data. Managed in-house, the portal will be updated daily, allowing the community access to current, verified data 24/7 without the need for a public records request.
